The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee will host a conference of Vice Chancellors of Central Universities for which he is Visitor at Rashtrapati Bhavan on February 6 and 7, 2014. This is the second such conference of Central University Vice Chancellors convened by the President since assumption of office. The President also convened a Conference of Directors of National Institutes of Technology for which he is a Visitor on November 7-8, 2013 at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The agenda of this year’s vice chancellors’ conference includes action taken on the recommendations made in last year’s Conference, steps to improve quality of education in Central Universities by creating inter-linkages with Industry; interfacing with ranking agencies and use of technology for access, equity and quality in higher education.

The Prime Minister; Union Minister of Human Resource Development; Ministers of State for Human Resource Development; Chairman, National Innovation Council and Chairman, University Grants Commission will participate in the conference.
