Learning has been the cornerstone of all developments and innovations since time immemorial. It is through this constant process of learning and unlearning that we address the challenges posed by the uncertainties of the future. Education holds the key to fostering mindsets that encourage individuals to constantly reinvent themselves, adapting to the ever-changing times. The fundamental question for educators, however, is: “How can we make learning relevant for 21st century learners?” This existential question should guide decision-making processes at the school level. Every school entrusted with the responsibility of educating children must strive to revisit its core ideologies and approaches to address the emerging needs of its digital natives. In the changing educational landscape dominated by Artificial Intelligence, the quintessential model of learning and teaching requires careful attention. The shift from information to knowledge, content to skills, and knowing to understanding sets the foundation for the choice of pedagogical approaches and the larger outcome in terms of defining the portrait of the learner the school intends to build.
To respond to an unpredictable future, as stated by Yuval Noah Harari in his book “Sapiens,” it is imperative to equip 21st century learners with the skill to reinvent themselves constantly. At American Eduglobal School (AES), we are guided by research, driven by internationalism, and inspired by native roots to infuse the teachings of world-renowned educators and philosophers such as Ken Robinson, Jiddu Krishnamurti, and John Dewey into our educational framework. With the end goal of grooming young adults who are inquisitive, innovative, and social entrepreneurs, we have adopted a teaching-learning methodology with an immersive approach that intrigues learners, fosters engagement, and allows for constructive improvement. Inquiry-based learning, data-driven instruction, and flipped learning are the methodologies that form the conduit of classroom instruction at AES. Pedagogical exchanges between teachers of American schools in the Global Consortium elevate the benchmark of best global practices at AES. The educational needs of 21st century digital natives are central to the framework of learning, hence the inclusion of joint projects, study tours, and innovation and entrepreneurship programs that nurture international mindedness and facilitate the exchange of ideas and opinions to develop a perspective.
The design of academics at AES is aligned with contemporary research and futuristic trends as suggested by the OECD and World
Economic Forum to impart education that remains relevant and meaningful for students as they step into the real world.
Simultaneously, it also emphasizes the balance between content and character-building to instill a strong moral fiber in its students. Well being, social emotional learning service orientation and entrepreneurial mindset are the essential tenets of the AES learning environment .They aim to kindle the seeking spirit, sharpen intellect, foster fair judgment, and inspire innovation for larger good.
